Bowman & Company LLP Senior Manager Michael Thilker traveled with SJ Honor Flight to Washington D.C. on April 21st. The SJ Honor Flight network is a non-profit organization for veteran support. Mr. Thilker – pictured here with Vietnam veteran Preston Sharp – has been involved in SJ Honor Flight for over seven years.
After meeting at Williamstown High School for breakfast, volunteers accompanied and assisted the veterans iin traveling to Washington D.C. to visit the national Vietnam Veterans Memorial, as well as the other US war memorials in the area. The trip to our nation’s capitol was a small token of appreciation for those who sacrificed for our freedoms.
While the end of the Vietnam war was 47 years ago, many veterans are still fighting for medical and mental aid for injuries and illnesses. Bowman & Company LLP supports veterans and is extremely proud of our employees – such as Mr. Thilker – who give their time & effort to veteran causes. Our support is necessary for programs such as NJ Honor Flight to exist, and for our community of veterans to be served & appreciated.
Michael Thilker (CPA, CITP) has over a decade of accounting and auditing experience. His career includes extensive experience with audits of not-for-profit organizations including healthcare, membership, and other not-for-profit organizations. He has extensive experience of auditing housing authorities and non-profit affordable housing organizations. Michael also has significant experience with government entities and non-for-profit organizations with audits conducted in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and the Single Audit Act. He also has expertise in performing Service and Organization Control (SOC) engagements, specifically SOC 1 and SOC 2. He also serves as team member performing peer reviews of other CPA firms, and has been approved by the AICPA as a SOC specialist.
