On Thursday April 20th, Bowman Senior Manager Michael Thilker and the South Jersey Honor Flight program made headlines for another successful event for veterans of the US armed forces. The organized effort between South Jersey Honor Flight and Williamstown High School’s students & faculty allowed 100 veterans to have an unforgettable experience. Multiple local media outlets, including ABC News (Channel 6) and CBS News (Channel 3), documented the heartwarming display of volunteerism & appreciation for their respective television audiences.

Mike can be seen walking through the hallways of Williamstown High School (wearing his Alabama Crimson Tide hat) as hundreds of students gather to wave flags & cheer on veterans. For some students, the connection with these heroes runs even deeper; a young girl was able to welcome her own grandfather to the ceremony. Veteran Leslie Wise laughed while being interviewed by 6abc’s Bryanna Gallagher, saying “I look out the [bus] window, and I see my little granddaughter, cheering me on!”

Michael Thilker (CPA, CITP) has over a decade of accounting and auditing experience. His career includes extensive experience with audits of not-for-profit organizations including healthcare, membership, and other not-for-profit organizations. He has extensive experience of auditing housing authorities and non-profit affordable housing organizations. Michael also has significant experience with government entities and non-for-profit organizations with audits conducted in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and the Single Audit Act. He also has expertise in performing Service and Organization Control (SOC) engagements, specifically SOC 1 and SOC 2.
